To Aru Majutsu no Index Chapter 44

And we finally got to release it.
Keep in mind that this was translated from Japanese to Chinese to English. Yes we translated the translation from the Chinese scanlation, and used the Chinese scans for our cleans, we are horrible. There were no Japanese raws, and I don’t think we’ll see the damn volume any time soon. Thus here you are, index 44. Hiyuki put in tremendous effort, translating the Chinese but also comparing it to the light novel raws to try to crank up the accuracy as much as possible. Be sure to thank her lots!
This is also the first official release of the lore master, Kaae. Welcome Kaae!

    Actually volume 8 should be close to compilation date since 7 has been around since a while… But considering the chapter / pages mark, I doubt that 44 is going to be included in volume 8 so it’s going to be a long wait till volume 9 with this one 😛

      Nope. 44 wont be in volume 8. Volume 8 will contain 42, which we also translated from the chinese scanlation. We might replace that one too.
      But I’m not even sure anymore if we’ll see volume raws anytime soon. Index raws are suddenly gar shit to get, apparently nobody scans it. Shonen gangan is not that unpopular, is it? ._.

        I don’t think the popularity has to do with it (in this sense). Most of the scans leak quickly as to show the spoilers from the series, this is done by people that follow spoilers / series by scanning them and thus spread them by that very same method. On that regard Index is at the disadvantage since “general public already knows what happens”, compared to Railgun or other popular series that are “manga first”.

        Personally I enjoy the manga since it’s expands the story in several areas (for example, Laura’s wide variety of facial expressions in chapter 45; or Sherry’s haughty, arrogant portrayal in this arc and things like those); I remember going through a “pain filled 4 months or something” period of wait time from the publication time of Volume 7 to the actual point were images / scans about it were leaked. I’m guessing that with Volume 8 things are going to be the same.

        Speaking of, supposedly volume 8 will be out in two more months ( 2011年6月22日 (more details here http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/4037519 ))
